The Rockford IceHogs returned to action against the rivaled Peoria Rivermen and once again, jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Kyle Greentree scored a minute and a half into the game with assists from Bracken Kearns and Richard Petiot. Seven minutes later, Akim Aliu returning from his one game absence, scored his 8th goal of the year. Petiot got another assist along with David Phillips.
The Rivermen answered right back though with two goals of their own in the final five minutes of the period to negate Rockford’s fast start.
In the second period, the lone goal of the period was the difference in the game. Ryan Flinn scored for Rockford and it was all they would need in a 3-2 victory. Corey Crawford stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced.

—Brandon Pirri assisted on RPI’s game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Dartmouth.
—Billy Sweatt scored a goal in Colorado College’s 6-1 win over Alaska-Anchorage.
