  1. Dave Morris says:

You all being reliable Hawkey bloggers, gentlemen, just giving you a heads up that the Huet-for-Turco rumors are being increasingly stoked in the blogosphere.

  2. Dave Morris says:

PS if Kyle Beach has 37 goals in the W, is there any reason why he doesn’t get a shot at being a Hawk next year? Just askin’.

  3. Lou says:

Beach’s biggest challenge will be his maturity. He is definitely tough enough and an agitator. Is it can he play two way hockey and avoid the stupid penalties etc. That is his challenge.

  4. JM says:

I can’t wait for Kyle Beach to join the team. It will be the equivolent of driving in a Toyota without a seatbelt.

Dangerous, sure. But so damn exhilarating.

  5. John says:

Beach has to show up ready to go for this summer’s rookies camp. He can’t have another showing like last year where he was barely noticeable. Otherwise, he’ll most likely end up as Rockford’s first line left winger in September. His penalty issues will figure itself out.

  6. Dave Morris says:

@John> not having seen Beach play, I rely on your expertise here. But a kid who can score close to 40 goals in the meatgrinder of the Western league gets my attention.

  7. Dave Morris says:

This just in…and this is NOT a rumor. Florida GM Randy Sexton has announced that every Panther is on the trading block, including Vokoun.

  8. John says:

I’m not trying to downplay his output this year, but it is his 5th year in the W. He should be putting the numbers he is. Vokoun and Seidenberg for Kopecky, Skille, and Barker. Make it happen Dave.

  9. Dave Morris says:

Here’s more to feed Deadline Day frenzy, from the Tampa-St Petersburg Times Forum tonight:

“The Blackhawks were on the Thursday scout list, but a second scout in addition to St. Pete Times Forum regular Scotty Bowman did not attend. According to TSN, Canada’s ESPN, Chicago was looking at D Andrej Meszaros, with the price being D Cam Barker, LW Patrick Sharp or LW Kris Versteeg. But word now is the ‘Hawks are focusing on Anaheim’s James Wisniewski.”

So many trade partners, so little time.
    😉

@John> I’ve tweeted StanBow re: your request.

  10. Dave Morris says:

PS@John> StanBow just tweeted back. If he can ship Huet along with the others you mentioned to FLA…might be a deal there.

  11. Dave Morris says:

PS> TFP’s David Pagnotta reports from LA that Hawk scouts are at Oilers-Kings game tonight.

Grebeshkov would be interesting addition to D. Strong PP guy, Russian Olympic selection, pending RFA.

    Tomorrow should be fun.

  12. Lou says:

ESPN insider scuttle – Hawks in the mix for Andy Sutton. Don’t know a lot about him or what he brings

    and the

Roloson. A 40 yr old goalie helps us how??? He has won what? I’d rathe lose playing the kid and get the experience than having this guy. I’ll take the 70 yr Espo first.

I think shoring up the blue line will make the difference. Neidermayer would be sweet. But if the Blues are trading Jackman i’d take him. That prick would be great for us. Tough stay at home D man.
